This course will walk you through basic information about the impact of noise on hearing and noise levels in the Maritime industry which require hearing protection. It will also describe how a Hearing Conservation Program is designed to safeguard your hearing. Students will learn to identify the noise levels that require hearing protectors and the correct use, care, and maintenance practices for hearing protectors. The course will describe types of hearing protectors, how they are selected for a job, and their advantages and disadvantages for controlling noise exposure.
